The Bitty Badgers Division of Cinnaminson Girls Field Hockey is for our 3rd and 4th Grade athletes. This league is designed to be the first field playing experience for the girls. Games will be played 7 V 7, with 6 field players and a goalie. Games will be held on Saturdays at one location, which will be announced shortly. The games will be competitive, but there is no score reporting or league winners at the end of the season. Instead, there is a final celebration, "Spooktacular." More details will follow as this event nears.
Practices will be held twice a week at Wood Park starting late August with our first practice date being TBD. We will hold practices
TBD. Practices will continue twice a week for the remainder of the season unless cancelled. Plan on attending both sessions each week. The scheduled practice times are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45-7:00 in the evening. The goals of our practices at this level are for the girls to learn the fundamental skills of the game and learn how to apply those skills to game situations. Therefore, the emphasis will be on allowing the girls as much opportunity as possible to have their "stick on the ball," meaning we want them touching and being involved in as much play as possible. There will be instruction in both offensive and defensive play as well as the introduction of corner play. Each week we will introduce and teach another layer of the game to the athletes. The core of this division is making sure the girls learn the game of field hockey while fostering a pure love of the sport.
If your daughter needs a stick for the season, you can bring her to the first practice on TBD at 5:15 for sizing.
Parent volunteers and high school volunteers are needed to be the coaches and mentors for this division. Please consider volunteering.
